This year, it was an incredible exposition as it was my first time. The exposition theme for the whole school was ‘Protect the Environment, Save Mother Earth.’ Each stream chose a topic connected to Saving the environment. My stream, Primary Seven Pigeon chose ‘MINING,’ my class was talking about what mining is, the types of mining, the effects of mining, the dangers of mining, examples of mining and its minerals etc. My class talked about quarrying, open cast mining, drilling and other things connected to mining. Some of the solutions my class talked about are usage of paints which mean instead of using real minerals they can use paint. Another solution of mining is in situ leaching which is the use of lixiviant during mining, lixiviant is a substance which melts minerals like gold, copper and etc. The mineral can turn back into a solid. My class also talked about use of renewable energy resources which are use of hydro energy, solar energy, wind energy and geothermal energy. We even had a display of an electric motorcycle and convinced people to use electric vehicles instead of fuel powered vehicles. Then it ended at 12.00 noon.
