My Graduation Speech

29th October 2022

My dear director, our Principal, our Head teacher, our beloved parents, teachers present, graduates, year 11 and S.4 candidates, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. My name is Nicholas.

“It is my pleasure to welcome you to our Special after COVID-2022 graduation day here at TISS.

I don’t know if you all have noticed but, there has been an air of excitement-; in the corridors, in the dormitories, the dance rehearsals- for the past weeks-an excitement that began to peak yesterday when the tents went up. This excitement in the air- is all about each of you-graduates! And I want to assure you that all of us here are very proud of you.

It’s my heartfelt honor as a representative of your tutors to share in the intensity of emotions- filling this place as you (graduates) close this chapter of your life’s story!

I stand here before you my dear friends-looking back on years of legacy-years of legacy we’ve all made together.

Parents, you are probably wondering where the years have gone. As you marvel at your son’s and daughter’s accomplishments, it doesn’t seem that long ago- when these young adults we honor today were toddling off to start Kindergarten.

I perfectly remember years back at then Taibah College School, I used to stand at a bus stop in Najjankumbi with a little girl who was studying at Primary then, little did I know that at one point I would stand here before her at her graduation day here at TISS-Precious Congratulations!

I still hold fresh memories of unity displayed during our Prom Preparation; the creativity, confidence, critical thinking, generosity, and care for the community showed when you sacrificed to save Edith’s life. The Women’s Day preparations, the Movie nights we held together, moments of pain and moments of joy; trust me the bonds created shall last ages!

We at TISS can comfortably say that we are sending out our finest leaders, entrepreneurs, and graduates of substance.

Once again, I would like to thank each of you for all you have brought during your time here. You are joining universities at a time when the world is grappling with numerous challenges; COVID, Ebola, Environmental concerns, global recession, and organ transplants. You are the solution! ©And from now on; you will be called TISS- alumni.

God bless you! God bless Taibah!

A school with a difference!
