President article
“Leadership is the capacity to transform vision into reality’’. My name is Latifa Kizito in S6 and the vision I had to achieve success as the President of Taibah International school has indeed transformed into my reality.
I would like to take us down memory lane, a year ago when a little girl from Nabisunsa had big dreams as a new student in Taibah. The culture and environment in the school encouraged me to pursue being the vice president of this great institution.I was scared like any individual would have been but inspired by my predecessor Niyyah Mwessi to whom I give thanks for being my biggest role model.
I was handed the opportunity to become the president of Taibah international school not so long ago as it was a task and challenge that the school community and administration endowed upon me.it has been an amazing journey and exceptionally busy year, one that I wouldn’t have successfully completed without God and the support of my senate body. We have had to deal with a rapid succession of important events and situations, many of which are still unfolding. Indeed, for me, it has been a most eventful period throughout. It was at times challenging but on the whole a most rewarding experience.
In face of crisis situations my senate body has shown that whenever there is a unity of purpose and the strive for consensus, we have the capacity to act to address these situations in a timely and constructive manner. They say a leader is only as good as their team and a great team they have been. I pray that this is only the beginning of a successful path for all of us.
My senate body was also filled with strong women from I the president, Cleopatra Faith the vice president and Roxanne Darian the chief judge. We are all little who have a vision to become better women and this is just the beginning of our journey.
With that said, I’d like to express my gratitude to the Taibah community for your support during my term as your president as it has shaped me into the person that I am today.A special thanks to my lovely Tr.Annet and Mr. Oskar Semweya-Musoke for believing in me,Tr.Paul for endlessly mentoring me,Tr Ita and Tr.Juma for guiding and loving me and lastly Latif kizito and Cleopatra faith, alongside the S.6 class for being there for me every step of the way.
Before concluding, permit me to express some of my hopes for the future as we have left behind a powerful senate body that we expect to supersede the outgoing senate.
Lastly,I encourage you all to grab all the opportunities that Taibah provides as they are provided in magnitude. “Be a magnet that draws opportunity’’. I say this because I can’t believe that I can now say that I was once the president of one of the biggest schools in Uganda.
Your president: Latifa Kizito.
