On 14th June, Taibah International School held a French festival which was the first of its kind in the school. The school was ornamented with blue, white and red, the national colours of France.
I was honoured to have been the playwright of the day’s skit and to also present a poem. The day started as early as 11:00am with final rehearsals for the skit and dances. The organisers of the day also got to work and transformed the school into a French wonderland.
Tantalizing aromas of different French pastries and delicacies seized the air thanks to the culinary-gifted students.
During the event, many students sang various French melodies for the guests which left them astonished. The dancers also exhibited a highly zealous spirit during their performance which enhanced the joy of the occasion.
However, my highlight of the day was the presence of the director of Alliance Française. His presence was an honour and privilege that made the day more eventful.
At around 5:30 pm, the event came to an end and even though we were exhausted, we left proud because of our hard work and co-operation that turned the day into the success that it was.
The French festival gave me a chance and an opportunity to cultivate my playwright skills and collaborative abilities because I worked with wonderful and equally dedicated and committed team members.
All in all, the 2024 French festival was a remarkable event and I thank the school for such an opportunity that allowed the French culture and language to be showcased to multitudes.
