On 1st May our class teacher Informed us about this year’s exposition and the theme for this year was making a business. She brought many business ideas and our class looked at movie shooting since it had never been done before. We looked at the challenges in the community and we came up with the title for our movie Girl from Nothing. We were grouped into different departments and some of these included sales, marketing and production departments. In my department of marketing, we were requested to write a sponsorship letter requesting funds to cover the movie expenses for example the movie recording, editing and other costs. We were able to design tickets for our dear parents and friends inviting them for financial support.
On 29th June 2024, we held an Exposition to showcase several activities, trading products like charcoal, candles, lamps, necklaces and the movie about a Girl from Nothing which started at 10.30 am and one had to show a gold or silver ticket to enter.
Girl from Nothing was about a young girl called Joy Sarah Hanirah who worked with her mother in the market and was not able to go to school due to limited funds. One day a kind woman called Mrs. Odiambo met the young girl and requested to meet her mother to find a way to help them. In the end, the kind lady was able to pay for all her education.
The movie was a great success because we learnt all the steps taken when shooting movies. Lastly, we send our deepest gratitude to teacher Miriam who was the movie director, teacher Farouk who was the movie editor and recorder and my grateful love to teacher Fatihah and all the actors in Primary 3 Gannet who rehashed for two months to complete the movie. An amazing party was organized to celebrate the well-deserved hard work and we were able to also buy a speaker.
