TIJS Head Teacher's Communication Term Two 2024

Thursday, 8th August 2024

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Today, Thursday, 8th August 2024 has marked the successful closure of Term Two 2024. We give glory and honour to God for the precious gift of life and for having enabled us to accomplish outstandingly in all spheres of life this term!

We appreciate you our dear parents/guardians for your selfless contribution towards our profound achievements.

Registered notable achievements

ACADEMIC

All our pupils have been engaged in significant, well-planned and closely monitored academic programmes throughout the term. They have been subjected to fortnightly tests and end-of-term examinations whose results have been issued to you on their end-of-term report cards.

EXPOSITION

We had a wonderful exposition day where we saw our pupils engage in different business and commercial ventures like candle making, charcoal briquette marking, recycling, painting carpentry and many others.

The pupils were taught how they can survive out of school using their skills. In all these we appreciate our parents for the significant role you played by purchasing our products.

PREFECTS’ ELECTIONS

I am happy to bring to your attention that we organised a smooth and fair election where our pupils were allowed to compaign and solicit for support from the whole school. It was a thrilling compaign and interestingly the voting was done electronically. We had a colourful swearing in ceremony where the new cabinet was inauguarated.

ACT OF KINDNESS.

As our community obligation, we normally give back to our community, however this term we had an internal Act of Kindness Week where by each class was given the liberty to choose what they would do and the activities were amazing including car washing, working in the kitchen, serving food to different classes and the pupils enjoyed it so much.

DISCIPLINE

The pupils' discipline has remained generally good because of the various approaches employed to assist the pupils in behaving well and enjoying the benefits of self-discipline. These include a senior woman and man counselling sessions, professional counselling sessions and behavioural change programmes. We thank you parents for your cooperation and contribution towards instilling into your respective child the required discipline.

CAREERs DAY

The Cambridge School organised a professional careers day where the pupils showcased what they would aspire to be in future. It was thrilling and exciting to see how the pupils expressed their ambitions. We wish them the best in their endeavours.

EDUCATIVE TRIPS

Since we believe in education for sustainable living, we complement our classroom instruction with field tours and excursions to concretise what has been taught theoretically with hands-on experiences. Therefore, we had field tours for the Primary Six who had a visit to an Agricultural farm and P7 is off to western Uganda.

CONTACT WEEK

The contact week was quite significant and parents were able to interface with all the teachers of their children and strategies were shared on to how to improve the performance of the learners and this has gone a long way in identifying the weak links and their remedies.

PRINCPAL’S MEETINGS

The Principal was able to meet and address the parents of various classes including P4 and 5! These meetings were very fruitful as some parents came to learn about the international curriculum and immediately shifted their children to Cambridge School.

CONCLUSION

It is pleasant that our school has remained grounded on its founding philosophy of providing an all-out education that emphasises individual achievement. We promise to continue serving you without boundaries.

Next term will begin on Tuesday,10th September 2024.
