Warm greetings and regards to you all from the Taibah Junior School family. It is with utmost pleasure and humility that I thank the Almighty God who has enabled us to complete this term and year successfully. We have been able to successfully complete a great deal of activities, especially this term, among which we have the following:
Our learners have been engaged, throughout the term, in academic and non-academic activities, both aimed at developing a holistic child. We administered fortnightly tests that helped our learners to further their academic progress. We also had two sets of examinations at end of Term Three: External and Internal. I am proud to inform you that our learners performed excellently in both sets and have been promoted to the next classes.
3. PREFECTS' ELECTIONS
During the term, we organised a perfects' election to usher in the new pupils' leadership team which has been missing for some time due to disruption by COVID-19. I can proudly say that we have bridged that gap.
I am happy to inform you that there has been a tremendous improvement in the discipline of our learners compared to how it was at the reopening of schools after the lockdown. This is attributed to the concerted effort of both teachers and parents. I do encourage you our parents to continue mentoring and monitoring the behavioural changes in our children and address them promptly.
5. PRIMARY LEAVING EXAMINATION(P.L.E.)
We must thank God that our candidates sat their P.L.E this year unlike last year when our P.7 pupils missed the entire year due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown. My deep gratitude goes to the parents who counselled and encouraged these children to settle down; they have finally been able to do their P.L.E. We continue to pray that those going to mark them may do it with a sober mind.
6. KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION
We had a wonderful ceremony for our Kindergarten Year Three pupils who finally graduated to Primary One. We thank the teachers who prepared them for the next level.
7. CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL
Our Cambridge School Pioneer Year 6 candidates sat for their Cambridge Assessment examinations, and we are eagerly awaiting their results as they were well prepared by our dedicated staff. There are limited vacancies available in Cambridge so please book in advance for the 2023 intake to avoid disappointment.
Valedictory for the Primary 7 and Year 6 pupils was marvellous. We had wonderful performances by our pupils for the send-off of the candidate classes of UNEB and CAMBRIDGE. Due to the Ebola virus outbreak in the country, we were unable to invite you to attend physically. However, we were able to reach you virtually. We wish our leavers all the best as they continue their journey of learning.
9. END OF YEAR
This term officially closed for end of year on Friday, 25th November 2022. First term for the year 2023 will begin on Tuesday, 31st January 2023. I wish you all a blissful holiday with your families. Yours in service, Madina Mugenyi, Headteacher.
