Here at Taibah, teachers give us projects to improve our creativity. Usually, we showcase our projects at assembly. Our projects help us to get some marks in our exams. Here in year 4, our most recent project was about the voltaic pile. The voltaic pile was the first battery ever made. It was made by Alessandro Guiseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta. Volta was born in 1745 to a wealthy Italian family. He attended a Jesuit boarding school but dropped out at the age of 16. Volta continued his education and at the age of 20, he began conducting experiments in his friend’s physics lab. Volta created a stack of metal discs separated by brine-soaked cloth. When he connected a wire to both ends of the pile, a steady current work lowed the layers. This invention is known as voltaic pile.
